The Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. (CGFI) continues to roll its civic mission of reaching out to leaders in the region with the donation of high-end laptops and Starlink kits to schools in Kalinga.

CGFI incorporators, Rep. Allen Jesse Mangaoang and Arnold Tolding, led the turnover of laptops to the representatives of the integrated schools under the Schools Division of Tabuk City and Starlink kits to other schools under the SDO Kalinga.

The turnover of the gadgets was formalized with the signing of deed of donation and memorandum of agreement between CGFI and SDO Kalinga and SDO Tabuk under Superintendents Natividad Bayubay and Benedicta Gamatero, respectively.

The SDOs expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the CGFI for responding to their requests, as the laptops and Internet connectivity kits are crucial in promoting quality education among learners in public schools in the province.

Mangaoang, who was among the prime movers that led to the establishment of the foundation in 2023, has assured that CGFI will continue to reach out to sectors that need assistance from the group.

The amount used to purchase the gadgets was part of the P2.4 million total assistance allocated for the eight SDOs of the Department of Education-Cordillera.

Recently, CGFI received an initial report that the construction of a classroom building for the Mainit National High School in Bontoc, Mountain Province is on track.

The group has funded the purchase of construction materials to pave the way for the classroom building on top a hill overlooking the village.

The group also helped fund the construction of classroom buildings in Benguet and Mountain Province, including donations of laptops to integrated schools in Abra and android tablets for learners of SPED Bontoc. – Harley F. Palangchao
