Players from the south and abroad have signified their intent to join the second staging of the Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. (CGFI) tournament set in three golf courses in Baguio on April 1 to 6.

The CGFI secretariat is expecting that more than a hundred teams will see action in the regular and seniors divisions of the tournament set at Camp John Hay Golf Club, Pinewoods Golf & Country Club, and Baguio Country Club.

Tournament fee is pegged at P80,000 per team composed of four players. A team has the option to add one alternate player for an additional fee of P20,000.

The fees covers practice rounds in three courses from April 1 to 3 and tournament proper on April 4 to 6. Each player will also be entitled to a gift coupon and free dinner during the welcome night and awarding ceremony.

The tournament will adopt the Stableford/PAL scoring system, where players have to pick up their ball after bogey to speed up play.

It’s also a four to play and four to count format both in the regular divisions classified into championship, A, B, and C categories while the seniors division will have class A and B.

The rules of play for the tournament has already been posted in the CGFI official Facebook account (Cordillera Golfers Foundation Inc.), which can be downloaded by the participating teams.

More and more players have signified to form new teams in support of the civic advocacies of CGFI.

The CGFI has already reached out to six of the eight schools division offices of the Department of Education-Cordillera through donation of high-end laptops, construction of school buildings, donation of dental chairs and Starlink kits.

DepEd-CAR has recognized CGFI as one of its valuable private partners in achieving its goal to deliver quality education to thousands of learners in the region through logistic support. – Harley F. Palangchao
